"You can’t do much better than silky-voiced sirens Linda and Laura Good together known as The Twigs." -- LA Weekly
The Twigs® are alternative pop musicians, music producer/composers, twin sisters and multi-instrumentalists Laura Good and Linda Good. The Twigs are working on a new CD, Aquamarine, with a single to be released later this year. They are also writing an original musical. Stay tuned…
The Twigs started out as darlings of the Chicago alternative pop scene in the late 90’s. A move to the west coast in 2000 launched their careers together and apart, as musicians, producers and songwriters. Their CD “The Universe Tonight” was produced by Grammy Producer of the Year nominee, Johnny K. Several of their songs from their well-reviewed CDs have been heard on major radio stations across the country, and their music continues to be heard in television and film around the world. They have headlined live shows at many top venues, including House of Blues, Mercury Lounge (NYC), and have won many awards for their original music.
In their solo projects, Linda has toured as a keyboardist with Jane's Addiction, The Mars Volta and Lisa Marie Presley, in addition to composing for film/TV and producing records for other artists. As a music producer, she has produced records for The Shaker Sisters (from which the song “All Night Through” was heard on HBO’s mega hit True Blood), and Brandon Jay aka Quazar (composer for the hit Netflix show Orange is the New Black.) She released a self-produced solo album, Love is a Curious Thing (2009), which hit Top 5 on KCRW. Laura's solo projects include the electronic duo Lars Darvo, and co-writing with up-and-coming songwriters.
After releasing four critically-acclaimed CDs, in 2013 The Twigs released a CD for kids of all ages, “Jump Right In”, which was featured on Babble.com’s “10 Great CDs for Kids that Won’t Drive Mom and Dad Insane.” "Jump Right In" features clever songwriting, ukulele grooves, quirky keyboards, sisterly harmony and also features Laura's eight-year-old daughter, Alena, on vocals and songwriting. They toured from coast to coast in support of "Jump Right In" to sold-out crowds. Clearly, their ‘cool music for kids and their parents with excellent taste’ strummed a positive chord.
New music...and a musical (!) to come.
